Grosvenor and Wilson Bowden, joint developers of Central Park, a 40.87ha (101 acres) business park in Rugby, have secured a second major letting.
Car components supplier Glacier Vandervell Bearings, a subsidiary of Dana Corporation of Toledo, Ohio in the US, will take a 1.94ha (4.8 acres) plot for a 5,109 sq m (55,000 sq ft) global research and development and European headquarters. Construction is due to start later this month, with completion expected in July 2001.
The deal follows Gap’s decision earlier in the year to relocate its national distribution centre to a 63,172 sq m (680,000 sq ft) site at Central Park, due to be finished in August 2001.
Charles Irving-Swift, managing director of Glacier, said: “Central Park provided the perfect combination of a high-quality environment, ideally positioned for our staff, customers and suppliers.”
Jeremy Titchen, Grosvenors commercial director, said: “We are delighted to announce our second transaction since securing outline planning permission for Central Park in March. With Dana and Gap in place, the Park is now 40% let, reinforcing our belief that this is the best site currently available in the region.”
