English Partnerships (EP) has short-listed seven joint venture partners to bring forward its £115m Kings Waterfront scheme in Liverpool.
Ician Consortium, Wilson Bowden, North Star Consortium, Bouygues Immobilier, THI, JJ Gallagher/Richardson Developments and Houston Securities (comprising SFX and Everton Football Club) will now submit detailed proposals for the scheme and a partner is expected be chosen early next year.
EP is planning a flagship, leisure-led, mixed-use scheme at the 14.6ha (36-acre) Kings Dock site which will include a cinema, bowling alley, restaurants, bars, hotel, offices, residential and a convention centre.
The selection process for redevelopment will be managed by Kings Waterfront Forum, chaired by EP, and will comprise a panel that includes Liverpool Vision, Liverpool City Council and the Northwest Development Agency.
EP’s Eliot Lewis-Ward said: “We received a large number of submissions from possible partners based both in the UK and internationally. It was difficult to come up with just seven names.”
