Online Finance lines up South Wales call centre

General Motors subsidiary Online Finance is to set up a call centre on a former manufacturing site in South Wales.

The company will take over the 25-year lease on Continental Can Europe’s (CCE) 4,775 sq m (51,400 sq ft) industrial scheme at Parc Nantgarw in Treforest. The building has been sitting empty for the past year after CCE transferred its operation to North Wales.

The subsidiary will pay a passing rent of £211,000 pa on the 1.8ha (4.5-acre) site. Chris Sutton of King Sturge, which jointly advised CCE with Edwin Hill, said: “This deal is indicative of a shift away from manufacturing over the last two years in South Wales. The call-centre market continues to grow here and Parc Nantgarw is a strong location.”
