New Look and Superdrug are poised to take troubled retailer C&As 6,038 sq m (650,000 sq ft) anchor unit at the Prudentials Arndale Centre in Manchesters city centre.
The shop will be split in two to accommodate the tenants who will take over the long-leasehold.
Andrew Vaughan, of Redevco, which is advising C&A, confirmed the company is about to sign two tenants for the unit. “We decided to subdivide the unit to gain greater diversification in terms of tenant mix and to generate a higher rent,” he said.
Max La Frenais, of Kitchen La Frenais Morgan, which is advising Redevco, would not confirm the name of the new tenants but said: “The unit is under offer. When we originally put the whole unit on the market we were looking for a rent of over £800,000 pa. Weve now got more than that.”
