Tower Hamlets council block listed

Carradale House in Tower Hamlets, London, has been granted Grade II listed status.

The council-run block was built in 1967 as the first example of the “New Brutalism” practised by Hungarian architect Erno Goldfinger.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has also listed a church in Bermondsey, south London, dedicated to St Crispin, the patron saint of shoes. Others granted a listing, include the Arts Centre and Music School at Christ’s Hospital in Horsham, West Sussex and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in Clore House, Bloomsbury, central London which were awarded grade II*.
