Community Hospitals Groups (CHG) says strong first-half results puts it in a strong negotiating position with prospective suitors.
It announced a 17% increase in pretax profit to £8.98m on turnover up 16% to £66.9m.
The 21-strong Bedford-based group is believed to have attracted interest from at least five suitors, including General Healthcare and US groups HCA Columbia and United Surgical Partners. CHG says the results prove it is strong enough to continue independently if it wants.
