Finalised plans have been unveiled for the transformation of Edinburgh’s waterfront at Granton, with four times more office and industrial space than was originally envisaged.
The project covers 140 ha (349 acres) and includes: 340,000 sq m (3,659,849 sq ft) of offices; 27,000 sq m (290,635 sq ft) of industry; up to 6,500 homes; two local shopping centres; and a marina.
The £1bn project has been put together by Waterfront Edinburgh. The company hopes to start work at the end of this year if permission is granted for all parts of the application.
