Menswear retailer Reiss has acquired a 1,150 sq m (12,000 sq ft) office building in central Liverpool for a city centre store.
Reiss will occupy lower ground and ground floor at Canter Levin & Bergs offices at Stanley Street/Mathew Street following the £1m deal.
“The upper floors are likely to be redeveloped as apartments or offices, depending on how the market moves,” said Peter Burke at Mason Owen & Partners, who introduced the deal. The store will open in the autumn.
The Reiss deal comes as the Liverpool retail scene prepares for new arrivals. Speculation is mounting that New Look has signed for an 836 sq m (9,000 sq ft) store at Land Securities Williamson Square at a rent around £200 zone A.
