Home shopping giant GUS has shortlisted five sites for 7,430 sq m (80,000 sq ft) of Manchester office requirements.
Presentations are said to have been invited from Henderson Investors Grand Island scheme, Amecs Cheadle Royal, Arlingtons Manchester business park, Taylor Woodrows Christie Fields and Peel Holdings Dock 9 site, Salford Quays.
The move comes as a second office requirement battle hots up. Icians Smithfield scheme and Allied Londons Spinningfields are heading for a showdown over the 27,870 sq m (300,000 sq ft) Royal Bank of Scotland requirement, central Manchester.
Alternative options, including Chapel Wharf, Salford, Ask/Taylor Woodrows Southern Gateway site, Cambridge Street, and Hendersons Grand Island, are understood to have been eliminated from the contest.
Royal Bank has a second requirement of around 9,300 sq m (100,000 sq ft) for the city centre.
Together, the two requirements consolidate the banks 15 Manchester offices.
