FPDSavills sets up retail property team

FPDSavills has finally set up a high street retail and shopping centre property team after two years.

Jeremy Helsby, chairman of FPDSavills Commercial, said: “We’ve been thinking about setting up the team for two or three years now. We’ve got a number of clients looking to get into retail or want to expand- Pillar has a substantial interest, and Henderson as well.”

Helsby added that the emphasis would be on meeting their existing clients needs first, “although we’re always looking to attract more clients.”

The three-strong team will be led by Patrick Heaps, who worked in retail property at Molyneux Rose for ten years. The team’s other members are: James Burt, who worked previously at CB Hillier Parker in national retail agency as well as London’s City and West End markets; and shopping centre specialist Ross Campbell, formerly at Healey & Baker.

Helsby said that the team would allow FPDSavills to retain valuable contracts that previously would have been lost. “We can now say to our clients that we have the retail expertise, so we don’t have to let it go out of house.”

Over the past two years FPDSavills has tried to buy various niche retail practices, including Churston Heard and Dalgleish.
