Portfolio Holdings plans to convert its Friar’s Walk shopping centre at Reading in Berkshire into a leisure destination, following the closure of the scheme’s C&A anchor store.
A planning application has been lodged with Reading Borough Council for change of use at the lower and ground floors.
The plans include a 2,330 sq m (25,000 sq ft) health club, a 2,175 sq m (23,400 sq ft) nightclub and a 440 sq m (4,730 sq ft) bar.
