The Lake District National Park and Cumbria Tourist Board are among those calling for a Leisure Dome and 3D cinema to be built because of the expected effect of a controversial ban on high-speed boats and water-skiers on Lake Windermere.
The ban is expected to cost the local economy more than £23m in lost tourist earnings when it is implemented in 2005.
