Urban Splash unveils designs for Liverpool flats scheme

Urban Splash has unveiled plans (pictured) for the transformation of Liverpool’s Tea Factory, a key development in the £70m regeneration of the city’s Rope Walks area.

The £10m mixed-use scheme comprises 4,153 sq m (44,709 sq ft) of commercial space over three floors, plus 30 residential apartments overlooking the River Mersey and the city centre. The scheme will have a walk-through atrium, which joins Wood Street and Fleet Street. Completion is due in November.

Next to the Tea Factory, the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT) is building three cinemas to support local artists’ film, video and new media projects, an exhibition gallery, and a link through to the Tea Factory.

The regeneration programme for the area is backed by the North-West Development Agency, European Commission, Merseyside Objective One and the Liverpool Rope Walks Partnership.
