Prudential has announced plans for an £18m refurbishment of The Mander Centre in Wolverhampton, which will begin in September this year.

Architect Bradshaw Rowse Harker has been appointed to design the scheme at the 46,450 sq m (500,000 sq ft) shopping centre.

Centre manager, Graham Evans, said: “During the next 18 months we shall witness a transformation of the Centre into a modern and attractive shopping environment, which will reinforce its position as the citys premier shopping venue.”

Prudentials investment director, David Alker, also lauded the programme, saying: “An £18m investment in Wolverhamptons Mander Centre underlines our commitment to ensuring the highest standards for shoppers.”

Hartnell Taylor Cooks London office and Michael Tromans & Co are letting agents at the scheme.
