The Duke of Westminster’s property company has fought off rivals Miller Developments and Cala Properties to snap up a strategic office development site in Edinburgh.
Grosvenor is believed to have captured the site next to the new Scotsman building at 108 Holyrood Road in central Edinburgh.
The Scotsman newspaper group was selling the land which has detailed planning consent for 4,180 sq m (45,000 sq ft) of office space.
It is thought that Grosvenor plans to review the site’s design, but expects completion by early 2003.
Jones Lang LaSalle was advising The Scotsman and was believed to be inviting offers in excess of £2.5m.
