A planning inspector has rapped Barnet council for trying to force affordable housing requirements on developers.
The inspector overruled Barnets ruling that the 18 flats being developed by Flairfax at 401-405 Nether Street, N5, would be required to provide 30-50% affordable housing under the councils new draft UDP.
The council said the draft UDP requires affordable housing at the scheme. But the inspector said that Barnets current UDP requires no affordable housing.
