Trade union Amicus is planning to spend up to £20m on buying a new headquarters office in London.
The new union, formed from the merger of the Manufacturing Science and Finance Union and the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union, is looking for 25,000 sq ft in Holborn, Westminster or Victoria.
