Birmingham-based Cofton has bought Chetwynd Barracks, part of the Ministry of Defence’s holding at Chilwell in Nottingham, for a sum that is believed to exceed £10m.
The 32-acre (13ha) site is earmarked for residential and employment use in Broxtowe council’s draft local plan, published in Janurary 2000 – although the local plan is under review.
