Mayor promotes Peabody’s “mini” homes

Mayor for London Ken Livingstone appeared at the Ideal Home Exhibition this week to promote a new “mini-suite” developed by the Peabody Trust and the London Development Agency.

The design is intended to ease the housing crisis in London.

The suite, designed by Live-In-Quarters, would cost around £65 per week to rent.

Next week the GLA will publish evidence to show that London’s population will grow to more than 8m in the next 15 years.

Livingstone argued that without 10,000 new affordable homes a year the capital would face “disaster”.
