Leeds City Council defend UDP

Leeds City Council are the overall winners in an action brought against them by two developers.

Pudsey-based Jack Lunn (Developments) Ltd and Leeds-based Keyland Developments Ltd claimed that the council’s unitary development plan (UDP) allocation of three sites in Morley, Menston and Horsforth had destroyed their development potential.

The two companies attempted to overturn the UDP provisions, which defined Jack Lunn’s as open space and failed to include two of Keyland’s sites in a green-belt development list.

Jack Lunn won its challenge in respect of its land at Daisy Hill Close, Morley, but Harrison J ruled against Keyland’s challenge.
