Multimedia phone operator Hutchison 3G has triggered its expansion drive by putting five stores under offer.
Its largest outlet will be a 4,500 sq ft (420 sq m) store at 123b Kensington High Street, W8, with smaller units of 2,500 sq ft (230 sq m) at 423 Oxford Street, W1, 33 King Street, Manchester, and in the Mailbox shopping centre in Birmingham.
It is also in talks to take a fifth store in Glasgow.
Hutchison 3G is understood to be paying £400,000 pa for each of the stores in London, and £150,000 pa on the stores in Birmingham and Manchester.
A source close to the deals said: “Hutchison is really pushing for prime sites.”
