Architect Broadway Malyan has appointed former House Builders Federation (HBF) head of planning Mike Newton as regional director of its Weybridge office in Surrey.
Newton, 46, will be responsible for promoting the interests of the practice to the housebuilding industry and the public sector.
He will also act as adviser to Broadway Malyan on changes in planning regulation.
At the HBF, Newton worked on DTLR policy and practice and focused on issues including urban planning and design.
