Birmingham’s Bullring rounds up retailers

Birmingham’s £500m Bullring retail scheme has secured a string of tenants and is lining up more.

Branded fashion retailer USC will make its Birmingham debut with a 13,275 sq ft (1,233 sq m) store on two levels.

HMV, Faith footwear, BT Cellnet, Footlocker, Holland & Barrett and Suits U have also signed for a total of just under 18,000 sq ft (1,672 sq m) at the multi-levelled centre, which is being built by the Birmingham Alliance, a partnership between Hammerson, Land Securities and Henderson Investors.

Speculation is mounting that French cosmetics retailer Sephora and Canadian shoe retailer Aldo are also in negotiations for the Bullring, as well as Dixons, Top Shop, Top Man, Miss Selfridge, Boots and Thomas Cook.

The Alliance would not confirm the speculation.

The scheme will open in September 2003.

Joint letting agents are Jones Lang LaSalle, Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker and Lunson Mitchenall.
