AMEC Turner wins MoD Scotland contract

AMEC Turner, AMECs joint venture with Turner Facilities Management, has won the £460m contract to provide asset management for the MoDs property portfolio in Scotland.

The seven-year contract will cover 400 sites and is the first of five similar long-term contracts to be awarded nationwide.

AMEC Turner will service major operational bases including RAF Lossiemouth and Redford Barracks, as well as unmanned listening posts and weather masts.

It will also work on the development of a strategic approach to deal with various capital projects.

Sir Peter Mason, AMEC’s chief executive officer, said: “This contract marks the continued growth of AMEC’s services business and the trend towards higher quality earnings through long-term service relationships with major clients.”

The other consortia shortlisted for the contract were:

  • Diamond (Carillion Services and Mitie Property Services)
  • Debut (Bovis Lendlease and SGI)
  • Circo Morrison (Circo and Morrison Government Services)
