Nottingham’s Welbeck Hotel changes hands

Niche investment and development company Pickering Properties has sold Welbeck Hotel in Nottingham city centre to a private London-based buyer off an asking price of £6.5m.

Brothers Cavan and Gordon Pickering built the 97-bedroom hotel three years ago following the development of Nottingham’s Savoy and Royal hotels, both of which are now part of the Moat House Group.

Earlier this year, Gordon Pickering’s daughter Sue Morris sold the Westminster Hotel in Mansfield Road, Nottingham in order to concentrate on her flagship Citilodge hotel in the city centre.

Christie & Co represented the Pickering family in both deals.
