Peugeot is seeking government aid to help with a £250m expansion of its Ryton plant, near Coventry.
There have been fears Peugeot will pull out of Ryton unless it gets a substantial grant to expand the plant, including a new £100m paint shop.
Ford warned it could be forced to stop investing in Britain if the introduction of the single currency is delayed much longer.
