The government is planning to demolish Wood End, an estate built in the 1950s on the north-east outskirts of Coventry.
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister admits that despite investment of £34m in the last 15 years, the estate has “not lost its stigma”.
Youth crime, including property damage, is rife on the estate and residents live in fear of reprisals if they complain.
