US porn tycoon Larry Flint is hunting for a London site for his first UK lap-dancing club.
He has approached a handful of owners and agents with a view to securing a site for a £4m Hustler club, following the opening of a club on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
The club will be a jv between Larry Flynt publishing, which produces the top-shelf magazine Hustler, and the US strip-club chain Deja-vu.
One site Flynt is considering is the Propaganda club on Wardour Street. Agents have approached co-owner Didi Dembri with a view to securing a lease on the £1.8m club, but no formal offer has as yet been made.
But opposition may come from Westminster council. A spokesman for the council said: “We would consider any application on its merits, but policy limits the number of strip clubs in the city, and that limit has already been reached.”
