Chesterton signed to draw up Truro design strategy

Chesterton and regeneration consultancy Urban Practitioners have been appointed to draw up a new urban design strategy for Truro.

The two companies, selected by Carrick council and the South West of England Regional Development Agency, will work with the Urban Design Group to produce the strategy.

The strategy will test assumptions about the location of developments and generate a series of design concepts that ensure such developments are incorporated into the city centre in a sensitive way.

Antony Rifkin, director of Urban Practitioners, said: “Truro is a city with massive potential, with an attractive waterfront, historic core and excellent retail offer. The urban design strategy will seek to capitalise on these strengths and ensure that all future new investment enhances the physical environment and prosperity of the city centre.”
