A group of East German developers have announced £82m plans for a tourist attraction development at Hilter’s former holiday complex at Prora on the Baltic coast.
The company plans to turn the Nazi-era buildings into a sport and leisure centre, a 1,200-bed hostel, football stadium, marina and golf course.
Hitler had planned for the camp to be the biggest holiday complex in the world, housing 20,000 German tourists.
However, Germany’s invasion of Poland forestalled the plans and prevented the area ever being used for its originally intended purpose.
It was eventually used as barracks for East German soldiers before falling into disuse.
