Bristol developer Terramond is planning a £10m mixed-use scheme on the four-acre (1.62ha) former Cooper Bussman factory site in Frome, Somerset.
The site forms part of the Garsdale development area in the town centre where the local authority is backing retail, residential and employment uses.
Terramond director Huw Thomas said: “This is a great opportunity for Terramond to add to our existing development portfolio.
“A planning application will be submitted within the next two months for a mixed-use £10m development.”
Other developments owned by Terramond include North Bristol Park, Bristol, a 22-acre (8.9ha) employment park, and Pegasus Park, Filton, a 3.5-acre (1.42ha) industrial and office site.
Cooper Bussmann quit the site earlier this year and switched its manufacture of fuses to China. It would not disclose the value of the land sale.
GVA Grimley acted for Cooper Bussman.
