The Liberal Democrats have confirmed that Simon Hughes MP is one of three contenders to be the party’s candidate for mayor of London.
The other two contenders are Susan Kramer, the party’s candidate for London mayor in 2000, and Donnachadh McCarthy.
The Guardian says the odds remain firmly on current mayor Ken Livingstone securing a second term in 2004 unless voters rebel against the congestion charge which begins on February 17.
