Redrow spends £100m on Scottish development sites

Redrow Homes (Scotland) has acquired five sites with a combined sales value of more than £100m, including its first site in Edinburgh.

The company has bought four sites – including Glasgow’s Anniesland Bus Station – from bus company Park Lane, which is relocating its headquarters to the Glasgow Harbour area next year.

Redrow plans to build 22 flats in Charlotte Street, Glasgow, 87 waterfront flats beside the River Clyde at Greenock and around 100 houses and apartments in the centre of Dunfermline, on the site of the former Dunfermline and West Fife Hospital as well as redeveloping the Anniesland Bus Station.

Separately, Redrow plans to build 300 flats and houses in the the company’s first Edinburgh venture, on 10 acres (4ha) purchased from BAE Systems at Ferry Road, Edinburgh following the companys relocation to Crewe Toll, Edinburgh in June.

All of the sites have either outline or detailed planning consent for residential use.

Redrow hopes to begin developing the first of the new sites within its current financial year, which ends in June 2003.
