NAEA membership

The National Association of Estate Agents now has over 7,000 members — an increase of 75% in the past two and a half years. A further 1,200 applications for membership are currently being processed.

President Ian Tonge says that the rising membership is the result of “the increasing appreciation by estate agents of the benefits of belonging to the NAEA and of the significant development of those benefits during the past two years”.

One recent development is the establishment of an examinations board under the chairmanship of Professor Robert Burgess of Warwick University to set up the NAEA Certificate of Practice in Estate Agency. The NAEA believes that this will become the nationally recognised estate agency qualification.
