Rivlin is to change its name to City Merchant Developers from March 1, so assuming the name of the company that Martin Landau, its chief executive, created following his management buyout of Guinness Peat Properties.
Rivlin merged with CMD last May, having previously acquired property from CMD as well as acquiring Marlborough Property Holdings. Rivlin also acquired Mayfair & City Properties.
Rivlin has three main subsidiaries — CMD Property Group, which manages the investment properties; City Merchant Developers — to be renamed CMD Developments; and CMD Development Coordination, a project management company — so few people think of it as Rivlin, a former textile company, anyway.
