Pembroke have completed a £26m acquisition programme in Bradford city centre which has left them with over 90% of the Broadway shopping area. The company and their partners now own over 400,000 sq ft of shop and office space in the area.
The owners are to carry out a series of refurbishments and developments along the Broadway frontage.
Over 280,000 sq ft of retailing at the northern end of the Broadway was the final acquisition in the programme; it will be upgraded as part of a second phase of environmental improvements.
Following negotiations with Bradford council, a pedestrian link will be created connecting Broadway with Darley Street, Bank Street and Cheapside. On completion it will provide the final pedestrian link with the railway station and the 500,000-sq ft Forster Square shopping centre.
King & Co, Molyneux Rose and Hanline Bleasdale Lowe advised Pembroke throughout the acquisition programme.
