Fraser Williams were also present at the Property Computer Show, exhibiting their SKYLINE system. British Land Co have just placed an order with them for this system, which consists of core database, diary and property accounting modules. This follows the successful completion of an initial feasibility study and design phase.
In the next phase of the project SKYLINE will be interfaced to TRI-O accounting software and the Stephen Sykes Associates’ Investment Valuation Portfolio Analysis system.
SKYLINE is based upon the Oracle Relational Database Management System, which provides facilities for linking the database to systems written in third generation languages such as COBOL, FORTRAN and PASCAL. Links already exist to Lotus 1-2-3 and WordPerfect.
Peter Earl, British Land’s systems manager, states: “Following several months of initial design work by Fraser Williams, in conjunction with BDO Consulting, we are delighted that SKYLINE has lived up to our expectations as a comprehensive and flexible tool.” British Land have selected Hewlett Packard 9000/870s hardware running under UNIX System V.
Fraser Williams has recently signed an agreement to become an Oracle business partner. The agreement gives Fraser Williams the right to develop systems based on the Oracle 4GL, and to benefit from Oracle’s marketing resources.
