Peterborough plan

Hyperion Properties — the NFC subsidiary — are seeking outline consent for a 200,000-sq ft retail park at Boongate in Peterborough. Centurion Retail Park is to be built on a 14-acre site, east of the city centre, on land currently occupied by BRS, Pickfords, Lynx and Exel Logistics, all of whom are NFC subsidiaries and who will be relocated to new premises in the area.

The scheme will provide eight units and will be dominated by one of 70,000 sq ft, which Hyperion expect to be taken by a food retailer. A number of retail warehouses are situated close by including Halfords, Texas Homecare, Wickes and Great Mills DIY, but the developers are confident that other retailers will be interested in taking up the new space.

Work on site is scheduled to start next spring with completion a year later. Donaldsons are letting the scheme with Berry Commercial and Wilson Peacock.
