South London firm Hooper & Jackson will return to the auctions market on April 30 after an absence of eight years. To be held at the Holiday Inn, Croydon, the sale will feature both residential and commercial lots.
Hooper were established in 1936, and now have offices in Streatham, Balham, Earlsfield, Tooting and West Norwood. All offices will be accepting instructions, with commercial property being dealt with by the West Norwood office and residential property at Streatham. The sales will be held every two months.
The April auction will be conducted by Tim Peters, a 26-year-old auctioneer who is licensed under the New South Wales Auctioneers & Agents Act. “We hope to attract owner-occupiers as well as the developer/investor in the catalogue,” he says.
The Holiday Inn was selected as the venue because Hoopers regard it as convenient both for the local and London markets. “Most of our clients are based in this area,” says partner Alistair Carr, “so at this stage we thought we’d keep it local.”
