Kent market marches on

Cobbs have made a foray into the auctions market in Kent, alongside competitors Ward & Partners and Walter & Randall, whose sales were reported on this page last week.

Total raised by Cobbs was £447,750 from a catalogue dominated by residential property. Vacant houses in need of improvement proved to be a popular buy.

Two in Tonbridge, at 43 and 45 Springwell Road, with a plot of land were offered and sold as one lot for £65,500. No 43 is a detached house on two floors and no 45 is a detached cottage on two floors, both of them in need of renovation. The plot measures about 600 sq ft.

At 3 Kingsland Cottages, Kingsland Lane, Westwall, Ashford, Kent, a vacant cottage also in need of improvement was knocked down at £42,000.

The three-bed house was originally part of a Georgian building.

Cobb’s next auction sale is in June.
