Pru buy out Pearsons

Latest acquisition for Prudential Property Services is the major Hampshire-based agency Pearsons, with a staff of 300 and annual sales of 3,500 properties worth over £200m.

The firm have 31 offices in Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.

The acquisition of Pearsons is PPS’s second step in a process aimed to give the insurance company subsidiary a nationwide estate agency coverage. First into the PPS fold were the Huntingdon-based practice of Ekins Dilley & Handley, a 12-office practice who were bought last summer.

In neither case have the Pru disclosed the price paid.

So far, PPS have grown from nil to 43 offices in under a year. Given their aim of national coverage coupled with the financial muscle to back it up, PPS seem destined to establish themselves as a potent new factor in the agency market, one to rival the largest of the established groupings.
