Bracknell council has picked three developers from a field of 17 to shortlist for its 16-acre retail park in Skimped Hill Lane.
Those going back to the drawing board to finalise their schemes are Bride Hall Developments, Citygrove, and Peel Investments.
The brief is for 180,000 sq ft of retail warehousing, together with 40,000 sq ft of leisure and a food supermarket of 40,000 sq ft. According to Bracknell’s advisers, Healey & Baker, initial bids ranged from £7m to over of £26m in cases where a major food superstore was included in proposals.
The three candidates have until Christmas to negotiate with the council and the successful developer will be chosen in the new year.
