Olympia & York clearly mean business in the UK. Less than a month after taking over the Canary Wharf project, they have persuaded a top American banker — Charles Young of Citicorp/Citibank — to join them and head their British operation.
Mr Young (above), who is 46, was not only the overall chief of Citicorp in the UK, but also headed their banking arm, Citibank. Before taking up the London post in January last year, he had held the same position for Citicorp/Citibank in Canada. Other postings included stints in Colombia, Taiwan and France.
