De Havillands flies in to Savills

Savills has paid around £800,000 for Manchester firm de Havillands, which will be merged with Savills’ present office in the city. Savills has seven fee-earners, a total that is boosted to 15 with eight from de Havillands, which had assets of £49,069 and posted pretax profits for the year to September 1996 of £121,550.

Rugby tries to sell Brunswick

Rugby Estates is to sell the Brunswick Centre, WC1, for around £14m, after failing at its third attempt to refurbish and expand the 7,430m2 (80,000 sq ft) 1970s shopping scheme. Hillier Parker is marketing it.

Sun spots opening in Camberley

Sun Microsystems is taking a short-term sublet of 2,972m2 (32,000 sq ft) of Fluor Daniel’s space at Watchmoor Park, Camberley, at around £115 per m2 (£24 per sq ft). The move is to tide over the computer giant until it completes its bespoke headquarters at Guillemont Park . Richard Ellis advised Sun Microsystems.
