Barrister Kim Lewison, the joint head of Falcon Chambers, has been appointed a High Court judge in the Chancery Division.
The new Mr Justice Lewison has been earmarked for property-oriented cases, with the Chancery Division often dealing with complex property disputes.
As a barrister, Lewison specialised in property-related cases including landlord and tenant, agricultural, commercial and residential property and conveyancing.
He became an assistant recorder (part-time judge) in 1993, a recorder in 1997 and a deputy High Court judge since 2000.
He is a past chairman of the Property Bar Association and the Anglo American Real Property Institute.
His publications include Woodfall Landlord and Tenant, Drafting Business Leases and The Interpretation of Contracts.
