Green light for Gosport business park

Frater Gate business park in Gosport, Hampshire, the South East of England Development Agency’s redevelopment of a former Ministry of Defence site, has been given the go-ahead.

The 12-acre (4.9ha) scheme has been granted full planning permission by Gosport council. It will comprise 64,200 sq ft (5,964 sq m) of offices and light industrial space.

Located at Frater gate, close to the A32 Fareham Road, the scheme will include a 30,000 sq ft (2,787 sq m) Gosport Business Centre, which will provide 65 self-contained offices.

Other plans include 106 car-parking spaces and a second tranche of land reserved for future expansion. Basepoint has been instructed to design, build and operate the centre, which is due to open in April 2004.
