Two Liverpool leisure entrepreneurs have joined forces to invest £15m in Baby Cream, a chain of bars.
Baby Cream is a joint project of Rob Gutmann’s Lyceum Group and Cream nightclub founder James Barton.
Lyceum is behind Liverpool’s Blue Bar & Grill, Baby Blue and Pan American Club.
The first Baby Cream bar will open in Liverpool’s Albert Dock in September, followed by another in Manchester’s Piccadilly area.
Sites have also been found in Leeds and Swansea, as part of an initial rollout of nine outlets.
Barton created Cream 10 years ago, and, although the club closed in 2003, its brand is still used to stage events and as a record label.
Rob Gutmann and his father Mike founded Lyceum Group around 10 years ago and are remembered for the conversion and sale of the Life Cafe on Bold Street.
