Alan Murch, former head of agency at CB Richard Ellis in the North West, is to join Liverpool practice Keppie Massie as a partner next year.
Murch left CBRE in October after 13 years with the firm and its predecessors to become a consultant.
He continues to work with CBRE.
A spokesman for Keppie Massie said: “Alan will be working with Keppie Massie’s six-strong team of surveyors as well as overseeing the business development strategy with fellow partners.
“His knowledge of property can give the agency a competitive advantage in what is now an increasingly buoyant property market.”
Keppie Massie was formed by former Richard Ellis directors Stuart Keppie and Ged Massie in 1999 and has quadrupled in size.
The firm recently acquired new premises at Enrica Court, Rumford Court, to allow further expansion.
Keppie Massie manages over 500,000 sq ft (46,450 sq m) of offices in Liverpool and has been appointed on several schemes in Manchester.
Murch recently took time off work due to ill health and is currently on holiday in South Africa and unavailable for comment.
Earlier this year, Christine Hanson, the head of Insignia Richard Ellis’s Manchester office, beat Murch to the job of leading CBRE in the North West, when the Insignia Richard Ellis office merged with the CB Hillier Parker Manchester office headed by Murch.
