Recently retired British Lion and Wales rugby star Scott Gibbs has taken on a full-time role as development manager with South Wales-based developer Liberty Properties.
Gibbs has had a part-time position with the Swansea-based company for the last five years.
In his new role, Gibbs has been charged with overseeing Liberty’s £26m Matrix Park development at Swansea Enterprise Zone.
Gibbs said: “My retirement from rugby was bittersweet in that I was leaving a game I love but it meant I could now throw myself fully into what is one of the most exciting times in my business career.
“I think it’s surprised a lot of people, who see me only as Scott Gibbs the rugby player, that I also have a business career.”
Gibbs will also be responsible for sourcing further development opportunities for Liberty throughout Wales.
The powerful centre achieved legendary status in Wales when his dramatic last-minute try secured victory for Wales over England at Wembley in 1999.
