The property industry must become more imaginative and responsive in the face of greater public scrutiny, BPF president David Hunter (pictured) has told the BPF’s annual conference in Brighton.
Hunter, the chief executive of Aberdeen Property Investors, told the conference that “We are being watched. The industry is more than ever in the public eye. Investors, regulators, savers and government” are all scrutinising the property sector.
He said that public interest in property means that the industry needs to be “more pro-active” in meeting the needs of the public and government.
“There should be no sacred cows. We must learn to think laterally about issues,” said Hunter.
